Don’t miss Boston artist Bren Bataclan’s Opening tonight at 7pm at Zocalo Coffeehouse.

We’ll be open from 8am to 4pm this Sunday, July 4th, so come on down and caffeine up for the occasion or just get hot chocolates all around! What? It’s hot out? We’ve got smoothies and shakes!
Either way, we’re open!
Zocalo is looking for new staff members. We are an award winning shop. constantly working to improve our consistency and quality. If you know someone who you think would be a good addition to the Zocalo staff, let us know!
While we’d like barista experience, more important is a desire to learn, grow, and excel. Our most successful staff members are those that take “ownership” of Zocalo, always working to ensure it’s running at it’s best. It’s not an easy or relaxing job, but it is fun and rewarding.
We have applications available at the shop and in PDF format here on the site.
A few staff members, a regular, Mitch, and I did another espresso crawl this week, with more to come I expect.
I’ll post a report here on the site, with photos of our visits, but to whet your appetite, we visited Four Barrel, Blue Bottle, Ritual Roasters, Philz, Pirate Radio Cat Cafe, Progressive Grounds (who don’t seem to have a website of their own) – all in SF.
Next trip we’ll invite y’all to join us. It’s a fun, chatty, buzzy time!

We’ve been nominated for Best Coffee Shop in the Bay Area on SFGate’s Baylist. We won 1st place in 2008 and I think we can win again. If you voted last year, you’ll still be registered even!
You should go there now, before you forget, and vote for us!

Friends of Bancroft Musical Theatre and the Bancroft PTA invite you to attend a community event filled with fun, friendship and entertainment to benefit the Bancroft Musical Theatre.
Tonight at 7pm, don’t miss Cynthia Omolulu’s book release party for her new young adult novel, Dirty Little Secrets, about living as a teen child of a hoarder.
With a matching $5,000 donation challenge from Zocalo Coffeehouse, our customers showed their community spirit donating $5,275 dollars to hit our $10,000 goal donation to San Leandro’s Davis St Family Resource Center.
Thanks to all who donated and spread the word far and wide. From the $5 hearts to the $500 tree toppers, you folks pulled it over the top and made a big chuck of difference that just wouldn’t have happened without you.
We’ll be opening at 8am on Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Monday, January 18th, so don’t jump out of bed at six and come pounding on the doors because we won’t be there yet.
Whoo hoo! We’re at 100 reviews in Yelp!
What significance does this have, you ask? None! Though it does give me the chance to ask you to review us (with 5 stars I hope!) on Yelp of you haven’t already.
Just click on the Yelp icon in the lower left of this page and you link there. While at it, why not click on the FaceBook icon to go to our FaceBook page and become a fan!
